Magic reached the round of 16 in the Nedbank cup competition, which guarantees the club a R250 000 cash prize.
Dearnaley says the players will share half of the prizemoney for the round they will progress to. The former Bafana Bafana and AmaZulu striker says the club would like to cause an upset against Kaizer Chiefs, but winning the league is the club’s priority.
“We have decided to give the players half of whatever money we are going to get from the Nedbank Cup and we have made it clear that it is to motivate them to push for promotion in the league because that is our bread and butter‚” Dearnaley was quoted by SundayWorld. “We will surely give this match against Chiefs our all but the players are fully aware that our priority is the league.”
