It may be over a week since SuperSport United suffered their first defeat in the DStv Premiership at the hands of what looks to be a resurgent Kaizer Chiefs, but Kaitano Tembo seems to be still licking the wounds of that 2-1 loss as he prepares his side to take on Royal AM.

“It’s been about nine days after our last league game against Chiefs and from that game there are a lot of positives that we can take, especially the performance, it was very good and I feel we deserved more than what we got because we played well as a team,” said Tembo.
Part of the pointers that The Spartans’ coach has jotted down is how he needs to improve United’s bite upfront as he has been sharpening the saw over the last week.
The re-introduction of Bradley Grobler may come in handy for Matsatsantsa as the prolific goal-poacher has resumed full training after an injury lay off and may be given some minutes against John Maduka’s side.
“We need to get better in the final third and bury our chances when we get them and we have been trying to work on our finishing because against Baroka we scored two goals but one against Chiefs.
Sometimes our decision making is a challenge because we choose the wrong options and the technique, especially our first touch, is also something we have been working on,” he said.
The KwaZulu-Natal flamboyant side are hot on the heels of Matsatsantsa A Pitori, just a point behind them, and today they will look to leapfrog United and creep into the top three.
“We are facing a team that is high on confidence and they have been doing well, they have been collecting points away from home so it is not going to be an easy game, it is going to be tough for us because they have some morale boost after their game with Orlando Pirates.
But I’ve got confidence in our team as well and I am positive that we will go out there and get a positive result because we have been doing well away from home,” Tembo said.
