Teko opens up his first season at City

Cape Town City midfielder Teko Modise has revealed that he was frustrated with the lack of game time at the club due to injuries.

Modise moved from Mamelodi Sundowns to City after he decided not to extend his stay with the Pretoria club.

“From being a regular at Sundowns to playing three games it was tough, and as someone with passion for the game, so I had to move to City,” Modise explained his move from Sundowns to City.

“What made Benni and I work well is that he is new to coaching and he wants to succeed and I want to succeed as well. He told me that “when you feel good I will play you”, and that made me want to play.

“I could have played more games but because of injuries I couldn’t.

“This season we learned a lot as a club, I think at some point we could have won and be in position one or two and we lost games we shouldn’t have lost.

“In the coming season we will be trying to do new things and win the first trophy we play in.”
