Ndlovu has received a number of accolades during his playing days while on the books of Bloemfontein Celtic, Mamelodi Sundowns, Swallows and Dynamos. However, it was at Swallows where he believes he played his best football.
“James (Chamanga) and are scored goals at Swallows. We were twin strikers, game for game if I score, he scores,” Ndlovu told Phakaaathi.
“We never took our eye offs the score charts. And so even our goal tallies were not that far apart, maybe a two or three goal difference.
“Chamanga had to leave half way through the season in January to China with 15 goals when he left so I continued working from eight goals and ended up at 15 for the season and we finished in the top eight with the guys.
“When the end of season awards at the club came Chamanga got the award, I was upset. He is gone I stayed with the team and the guys and I fought for the club so I went to management and told team I should get the top award for the goals I scored and not Chamanga.
“In the end they gave it to me a few weeks after the awards ceremony. I didn’t understand why he got the award because he had left the club. Why was he still getting awarded when he was no longer there? He was in China, but I got it in the end.”
