Tau has been a consistent performer for coach Pitso Mosimane’s side since returning from a loan spell with National First Division side Witbank Spurs.
“Where I am’ is where I am, I don’t think there should be any pressure on [moving abroad]. I think I’m still playing in one of the top leagues in Africa,” Tau told Kickoff.
The 23-year-old has become a regular in the Bafana Bafana squad thanks to his success at the club.
“I’m happy to be working with coach Stuart (Baxter) at the national team, he’s a top coach and he understands a lot of things,” he said. “He gets into the players’ minds easily and that shows how smart he is.
“At the club, I’m happy to work with coach Pitso. I am where I am because of the work that he has done with me, and the faith he has in me.
“Also how we won the Champions League [in 2016], it shows that he is a top coach. He’s won coach of the year in Africa and it shows his quality. He’s also very experienced.
“For sure they both demand so much and they’ve got similar qualities, and even though I’ve only spent a few times with Stuart, I think there’s still so much to learn from him.”
