Tau likens Champions League opponents to Kaizer Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns star-player Percy Tau says Rayon Sports play a lot like Absa Premiership rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The Brazilians held the Rwandans to a stalemate in their Caf Champions League group stage qualifier last week.

They will host the side in the second leg this Sunday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

“It is difficult to compare them to any PSL team, but they are strong and they have good players. They also play the system that Chiefs plays, so we are used to that system,” he said.

“The PSL has grown so much and a lot of teams are doing so well in the PSL,” Tau added.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane will be back in charge after missing the Brazilians’ Nedbank Cup triumph over ABC Motsepe League side Eastern Cape Bees on Tuesday.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor was in Morocco honouring an invitation by Caf president Ahmed Ahmed to take part in a Pro License coaching course.

Manqoba Mngqithi has been at the helm of the team in the absence of Mosimane.

“Our assistant coach is also a head coach, so the prepartions have been good. We are working on a few things that we got wrong in Rwanda. Hopefully in this game with coach back with the experience and the knowledge, it would be great to have him back,” commented Tau.
