Tade joins Sundowns from AmaZulu

The team has confirmed the departure of striker Emiliano Tade.

The Argentine striker was sold to Mamelodi Sundowns after the two clubs reached an agreement for the player’s transfer.

Coach Pitso Mosimane hinted at signing the striker before the end of the transfer window as he looks to increase his options in attack. The former African coach of the year revealed that his side was looking for a striker that could help them score goals and win more games in the last games of the season.

Usuthu general manager Lunga Sokhela had previously told the media that the 30-year-old striker was not for sale when Sundowns first enquired about the striker’s services, but the club changed its tune on the last day of the transfer window. Sokhela said they wanted to keep the striker and suggested the striker force his move to the Brazilians.

The deal will effectively end Bonginkosi Ntuli’s loan deal from Sundowns, making him a permanent AmaZulu player. It was reported by Phakaaathi that Sundowns will offer a player to AmaZulu to sweeten Tade’s move from the KZN outfit to Pretoria.

“It was always our intention to keep hold of Emiliano but we did not want to stand in the way of the player,” said Sokhela after Tade’s deal to Sundowns was concluded.
