SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews says he would like to offer the club's young top players improved deals.

Matthews said the club would use Thuso Phala’s big package to give the youngsters who were promoted from the club’s development structures.
Phala was released from the club after falling out with the club’s management and the former Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars winger was released prematurely before his contract expired in June.
Matthews believes Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, and Aubrey Modiba deserve improved deals for the commitment they have shown to the club.
“First of all, with some of that money, I want to look after the high performers in the team. Players like Ronwen, Teboho and Aubrey deserve improved packages,” club chief executive Stan Matthews told Sowetan. “Only after that can we go out in the market and look to spend on reinforcing the team.”
The United boss said the club was looking to sign a striker and left-back in the off-season, but would not spend a lot of money.
