SuperSport players to share half of MTN8 prize money
SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has confirmed that the players will share R4 million after they beat Cape Town City in the final of the competition on Saturday night.

By winning the final, United beat Benni McCarthy’s team to the R8 million cash prize that was on offer on the day.
“The players will get half of the money won by the team. They will split R4million rand. The other R4 million will be given to our staff, the beauty about SuperSport United is that when the team wins everyone is rewarded, everyone. From the cleaners, to drivers, coaches, kit managers, the cooks. We work as a team so everyone should benefit,” Matthews told Isolezwe.
“I think promising the player half on the money is one of the reasons for the players to win the match.”
