SuperSport decide against keeping Lebese

SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has confirmed that the club has decided against keeping George Lebese.

Lebese joined SuperSport on loan from Sundowns in January and Matsatsantsa were given an option to buy him permanently at the end of the season, but they have decided to send him back to Sundowns.

Sundowns are said to be interested in Aubrey Modiba and have offered Aubrey Ngoma and Lucky Mohomi to sweeten the deal.

“I’ve informed Sundowns and George’s agent that I won’t pursue George. He just didn’t have enough game time in his legs. That’s another scary thing with (Aubrey) Ngoma and (Lucky) Mohomi. It takes me three months to get them back into condition. It nearly took us a year to get (Magakolodi) Ngele in condition. “When I look at Ngoma and Mohomi, I’m worried. That’s why it is difficult for me,” Matthews told IOL.

“I’m looking for left sided attacking player. At some point, I know that I’m going to lose Aubrey (Modiba who is on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns). It is all about having a good communication with the player and his agent. I don’t want to be in a situation where a player comes in on the 28th of July and hand in a transfer request.

“Where am I going to get his replacement in three days?”
