SuperSport coach spoilt for choice ahead of City clash

Tembo's challenge is to decide who he will play on Saturday as all three of his front men have been firing on all cylinders.

In-form Bradley Grobler was rested in SuperSport United’s 4-0 demolition of Black Leopards last weekend in an Absa Premiership match, seemingly because his coach Kaitano Tembo did not want to run the risk of having the marksman get himself injured or suspended.

All eyes are on Grobler, as he is the MTN8’s top goal-getter this year with three goals, but the Bafana Bafana international is shying away from the spotlight ahead of United’s MTN8 final date with Cape Town City on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“The whole team has done well. We have players who are scoring goals. James Keene did well over the weekend and Evans Rusike has been doing well by scoring and assisting so there are a lot of players who people should be watching. At the end of the day it is a team effort and the team is doing well,” said Grobler.

Tembo’s challenge now is to decide who he will play on Saturday as all three of his front men have been firing on all cylinders. However, Grobler says whoever will be on the pitch knows how to get the job done.

“The thing about SuperSport is that we support each other and we back each other up. It doesn’t matter who is playing on the day and that can only work well for the team. It is a headache for the coach but it is a good headache for him because everyone is scoring,” he said.

Last season Matsatsantsa won the title and went on to suffer from what is known as the curse of the MTN8, where a team that wins the trophy goes on to have a mediocre campaign in the league.
Curse or not, Grobler wants a second Wafa Wafa gold medal.

“Everyone is desperate to win it. We have come off a few good results and the confidence in our camp is as good as it can be. We want it, we are not going to be over desperate, but we have the experience in the team and we are going to use that to get over the line,” added the 30-year-old target man.
