SuperSport coach not getting carried away by Pirates win

However, he wants his team to get over that win as soon as possible.

Kaitano Tembo could not hide his joy when his SuperSport United side thrashed Orlando Pirates 3-0 at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday night in an exciting Absa Premiership match.

The soft-spoken Tembo gave a very humble account after guiding Matsatsantsa A Pitori to their first win this season, insisting that a result like this must not be stuck in their heads but must look to reproduce brilliant performances such as these week-in week-out.

“One performance does not really win you anything and you have got to dish out performances like these on a weekly basis and I think that is the challenge for us,” Tembo told Phakaaathi.

“This was our second game and we need to focus on our next game which is the MTN8 against Wits, this game is gone, it is finished and we need to try and concentrate because it is still a long season,” he added.

“We need to stay humble. Yes, we have done a good job but we need to make sure that we focus on the next game. The guys have really done well to get a result like this but at the same time let us forget about it and the sooner we move on the better.”

United’s next assignment is a trip to Bidvest Stadium this Sunday where they will square off with Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 quarterfinals.
