SuperSport closes in on Roger De Sa

SuperSport United are said to be monitoring former Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa.

The 52-year-old has been without a job since his resignation from Maritzburg United in March.

The club will need a new coach as Stuart Baxter is set to vacate the position for his Bafana Bafana duties as national coach.

“Roger has the expertise to coach a club like SuperSport, he has been in the game for a long time and he knows how to compete in Africa, he proved himself with Pirates. That is what the club is looking for at the moment,” said an insider from the Tshwane-based club.

Meanwhile, as reported by Phakaaathi in April, SuperSport are in contact with Ruud Krol to possibly make him a replacement for Baxter.

“Baxter has indicated to the club that he is keen to join Bafana, so they have started the process of finding his replacement. Roger De Sa has also been mentioned as a possible candidate, but it looks more likely that Krol will be the man to replace Baxter,” said a source close to SuperSport.

Krol spent three seasons with Orlando Pirates before he was surprisingly axed after winning the treble in 2011.
