SuperSport beat Baroka
SuperSport United avoided relegation, as they beat Baroka FC 1-0 in an Absa Premiership match played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, near Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.

Having had a shocking league campaign after finishing as runners-up in the Caf Confederation Cup last December, SuperSport found some good fortune at last when they were on the receiving end of a penalty kick, after midfielder Mokgaolodi Ngele went to ground in the 25th minute.
Aubrey Modiba made no mistake from the spot in putting the ball wide of Baroka goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini.
Baroka, coached by Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo, seemed to be focused on catching the home side on the counter attack, but were unable to convert the few chances that did come their way.
Like SuperSport, the men from Limpopo were also watching for signs from their bench, as to the goings-on in the Ajax Cape Town game against Kaizer Chiefs, but the Cape side’s 2-1 defeat against the Amakhosi, left the two sides in action in Atteridgeville safe from relegation playoff prospects.
It was a quiet afternoon in goal for SuperSport keeper Ronwen Williams as the visitors battled to string passes together and seldom looked dangerous in the final third of the park.
Baroka will go into the off-season shaking their heads as to how they were one time log-leaders and ended up only just avoiding the relegation drop, with much soul-searching to be done before the 2018/2019 campaign.
