Sundowns and Zifa collide over Billiat

This comes after Sundowns withdrew Billiat from the Zimbabwe squad to face Liberia in the Afcon qualifier on Sunday, citing injury as a reason for the withdrawal.

But Zifa wants Billiat to report for camp.

“We’re going to write to Safa because this is a recognised international match, and the club is entitled to release the player in line with international football regulations, governing the release of players,” Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela told the Daily News.

Meanwhile, Warriors interim coach Norman Mapeza has called up Polokwane City goalkeeper George Chigova and Dynamos defender Lincoln Zvasiya to replace the injured Edmore Sibanda and Dennis Dauda.
