Sundowns unveil new kit for Caf African Football League

Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday unveiled a kit that they will wear at the inaugural Caf African Football League (AFL).

Sundowns are the only South African side playing in the competition, and will face Petro de Luanda of Angola in the quarterfinals. The first leg will be played in Angola on October 21 and the second leg three days later at Loftus Stadium.

‘With the team about to represent the Nation in the inaugural African Football League we have designed this kit to honour Mamelodi Sundowns as they take their place amongst the other as giants of African football. A new League deserves a stylish and special kit for our Team,’ said PUMA Marketing Director Brett Bellinger, according to the Sundowns official website.

Former Sundowns midfielder and now spokesperson Tiyani Mabunda added: “It is an honor to be selected as one of the top teams on the continent to participate in this prestigious competition and we could not have chosen a more befitting time to launch this special kit for the Yellow Nation. We trust that the kit will propell our players to break new boundries and reach new heights.”

Sundowns and Petro are two of eight teams playing in the AFL, with a prize of US$4 million up for grabs for the winners. The other six teams are Al Ahly, Wydad Casablance, Esperance de Tunis, Simba of Tanzania, TP Mzambe from Dr Congo and Enyimba from Nigeria.
