Sundowns slowly losing league title race

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits his side's chances of retaining the league title are slipping away.

After losing to Kaizer Chiefs last weekend and a subsequent goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in a midweek game, Mosimane is worried about his side’s failure to score goals to win matches despite putting pressure on the opposition and creating scoring chances.

The Brazilians have struggled to collect maximum points from the league games they had in hand due to their participation in Caf club competitions.

“If you don’t score and miss the chances you won’t win. At the moment the challenge is there, the truth is we need to win the match to keep the chance alive, to win you need one goal more than the other guy, possession doesn’t win you games. It is about results, so the results are not there for us,” said Mosimane.
