This comes after reports emerged on Thursday that Sundowns and Nascimento have parted ways.
However, Sundowns say Nascimento has returned to his Brazil to recover from a pelvic injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
“Everyone know that he went for an operation which will see him stay out for the rest of the season. The player has not left the club he is in Brazil recovering from the operation. As soon as he recovers and he is ready to come back he will come back to Sundowns, he still has a contract at Sundowns,” said Sundowns’ media officer Thulani Thuswa.

Sundowns have already filled Nascimento’s spot in the foreign players’ list with Ghanaian goalkeeper Brimah Razak.
Nascimento joined Pitso Mosimane’s side from Portugal side Academica in June last year and the Brazilian played 30 matches for the African champions.
