Sundowns plagued by injuries ahead of Arrows clash

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that they will be without seven players when they play Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup last-16 clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.


According to a statement on the club website, Ricardo Nascimento, Soumahoro Bangaly, Wayne Arendse, Asavela Mbekile, Tiyani Mabunda, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Denis Onyango will miss the match due to injuries.

Mamelodi Sundowns will go into Saturday’s match against Goldern Arrows minus seven of the key players, who are ruled out with injuries.

The defence seems to be the most affected, with four crucial players ruled out of the Nedbank Cup clash.

Ricardo Nascimento and Soumahoro Bangaly are the latest to join Wayne Arendse and Asavela Mbekile on the injury list.

Nascimento is out with a groin injury, while his partner in defence Bangaly suffered an ankle injury.

Tiyani Mabunda was hacked down and stretched out in the match against Bloemfontein Celtic. He is nursing an ankle injury and due for an MRI scan.

Sibusiso Vilakazi and Denis Onyango are not yet back since their injuries.
