Sundowns coach unhappy with Maboe’s finishing

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane wants his leading goalscorer Lebo Maboe to improve on his finishing.

Maboe was guilty of missing several chances during Sundowns’ 3-2 win over Chippa United on Tuesday afternoon.

Mosimane was happy with the result but added he wanted to see better decision-making from Maboe in front of goal.

“What can I say? Difficult game, because Chippa gave us a hard time to be honest. They had their nice combination passes and play we had a little bit of a challenge,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.

“But what’s important is that we scored three goals. We scored two over the weekend, but again confidence on Lebo in front of goal, he decides to pass.

“He must take it himself and finish. Gaston scored a more difficult goal than the chances Lebo got. It’s okay, we won the game.”

Following the win against Chippa, the Brazilians are now tied on top with Orlando Pirates on 50 points in 27 games, but the Buccaneers lead the standings through goal difference.
