This means Downs will have to move swiftly in the transfer market.
Coach Pitso Mosimane says they are still looking to secure the services of about three players.
“We are rushing, we need to bring at least three players. They can be here by tomorrow (Saturday) or they can be here on Monday or hopefully on Sunday,” he told the media yesterday (Friday).
The former Bafana Bafana coach can only register 30 players for the Champions League. He is, however, still uncertain on who to leave out of the 30-man squad.
“You can’t say people should leave when you don’t have back-up. Some of the players who we kept in June, we kept them because they were registered in the Champions League and some of them haven’t even had time to play on the local games. We have to make sure that we do our things right,” he said.
Be that as it may, Mosimane has chosen to remain mum over SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie who is reportedly topping the list of players he wants to lure to Chloorkop.
“Brockie is a SuperSport player. I don’t want to talk (about Brockie) I wish I could talk but I can’t talk,” commented Mosimane.
