Sundowns appeal Mosimane’s red card

Pitso Mosimane was sent off by referee Victor Gomes during his side’s 1-0 win over Cape Town City last Friday.

As a result, Mosimane is suspended for two games.

Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa, however, says the club has submitted documents to appeal Mosimane’s red card.

“I feel like ‘penaldhino’ is targeting Pitso. It was an unfair sending-off. We cannot fold our arms and keep quiet. The coach has the right to protest and the referee’s job is to calm the situation, instead of being emotional himself,” Thuswa told the Daily Sun.

“Going through video archives of games where Gomes was involved, you are tempted to believe there is more to this than meets the eye,” added Thuswa.
