Former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic believes the Buccaneers have turned the corner and everyone affiliated with the club should be supportive of the coaching staff and players.

The Serbia born coach was in charge of the Buccaneers from 2017 until 2019, but never got to lift any silverware with the club despite being in charge of one of the exciting Bucs squad in his spell.

“I’m very happy that in the last two games the team has kept clean sheets and scored five goals. Two in Liberia (Caf Confederation Cup) and three the last time in the league against Stellenbosch. And when you have that in mind I believe that they have turned the corner. All of us, no matter the respective position we hold, if we really love Orlando Pirates we need to support the coaches, technical team together with the players to take the team where it is supposed to be,” Sredojevic told SuperSport TV.

When he departed his post as the Buccaneers mentor, a lot of questions were raised regarding Sredojevic’s exit, but no real reasons were given.

The current Uganda senior national men’s team coach still has much love for Pirates and says if he might go back to the club he would like to win a trophy.

“Everything was the way God wanted. Thinker of destiny is playing its role and whatever has happened I would in any way like to say maybe, if I could return, maybe something different we would do to win a trophy with Orlando Pirates. However, I’m happy the team recovered after many years, they won MTN8 last year and I wish the team sincerely all the best,” he added

“Also to the South Africa football fraternity I would like to say I’m away from you, but I feel I have not just coached your players, but been friends with your football administrators or the football fraternity supporters.”
