‘Speak to us,’ Jessica Motaung urges Chiefs fans after riots
“It was very disappointing conduct, and for us, it is to say we condemn the violence. The club does not condone violence," says Jessica Motaung.

Jessica Motaung is calling upon Kaizer Chiefs‘ fans to address their concerns about the team’s performance and results in a more constructive manner.

She emphasises the importance of open dialogue with the club rather than resorting to violent or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Jessica’s appeal comes in the wake of an incident where Chiefs’ fans went on a rampage, pelting coach Molefi Ntseki with objects and demanding his resignation following a 1-0 loss to SuperSport United on Wednesday.
This episode at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane occurred just a few weeks after a similar event at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Expressing her disappointment, Jessica remarked, “We were very disappointed with what happened yesterday (Wednesday) with the fans.
“It was very disappointing conduct, and for us, it is to say we condemn the violence. The club does not condone violence.”
Despite the club’s efforts, including signing new players and revitalising the team’s style and performance, such incidents continue to mar their progress.
Jessica stressed the need for unity, saying, “It is time to say to our supporters ‘it is time to rally together and support’.
“We need to be together with the team and work together towards really achieving our objectives.”
“Violence solves nothing,” says Jessica
Jessica urged the fans to channel their frustration constructively, stating, “While we may be angry and not understand situations, we need to sit together and collaborate.
“We are looking to our supporters to be supporting our team, particularly when we go into battle.”
As they approach the upcoming game, Jessica’s expectation is clear: “Regardless of the results, we want to see our supporters saying to the team, ‘we rally behind you.’
“Supporting the coach, supporting the players to do their jobs.” Chiefs meet Sundowns next.
They have unfinished business in the MTN8 quarter finals with the first leg having ended in 1-1 draw a few weeks ago.
