Safa’s Vision 2030 has already failed, according to former Bafana Bafana midfielder Sipho Ndzuzo who has called for drastic measures to be taken.
OPINION: Let’s cut Broos a break, at least until Bafana get their shot at Liberia redemption
Ndzuzo says the elimination of the national Under-23 side from the Caf Under 23 Africa Cup of Nations should be declared a national disaster.
David Notoane’s side played to a goalless draw against Congo-Brazzaville away on Monday night. They needed a win after having played to a 1-1 draw at home.
Congo-Brazzaville went through on away goal rule, leaving South Africans calling for changes, including Ndzuzo.
The former Manning Rangers and Mamelodi Sundowns player took to social media to vent his frustrations.
“The Under 23 football team was eliminated by Congo and won’t participate in the upcoming Afcon,” wrote Ndzuzo.
“And therefore they won’t go to the Olympic Games. The vision 2030 of Safa has already failed because its (key) deliverables were to qualify for Afcon and (the) Olympics.
“Heads must roll… Danny Jordaan and his NEC (national executive council) must step down.”
Ndzuzo believes the elimination must be taken seriously and be declared a national disaster.
“We need to declare a state of disaster in South African Football. Dissolve the whole structure of football…
“Start afresh, put up a temporal structure to take us to a new NEC structure that will have representation of all football stakeholders.
“We are still in 2023 but we have already failed for vision 2030. Danny Jordaan needs to go and retire from football. He is tired and old.”
Ndzuzo said he feels sorry for Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos whose team are also hanging by a thread.

Bafana also need to beat Liberia away on Tuesday evening to qualify for next year’s Afcon.
“I feel pity for Hugo Broos because he thought SA Football issues could be solved immediately.
“Even Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho will not sort our issues. SA football needs a restructuring and a whole rebuilding.
“Minister (of sports) Zizi Kodwa please lead us, SA football lovers are being taken for a ride.
“The country is emotionally abused and being held ransom by people who just want power and status.
“If women’s football wasn’t doing well, I would have suggested that Safa must be withdrawn from Fifa to fix our problems.
“Women’s football is doing a great job and we wish they can be supported,” said Ndzuzo.
