Siasia relishes Bafana challenge

Samson Siasia says it will be a great challenge for him to coach South Africa.

The former Super Eagles coach is among the shortlisted candidates for the vacant national team coaching job.

The job was left vacant after Safa fired Shakes Mashaba following disciplinary action against him.

“It would be great if I get the chance to handle Bafana Bafana. They are a great team with some good players,” Siasia told SportingLife in Abuja.

“The good thing is that my name is among the four shortlisted coaches for the job, so anything can happen.”

Siasia also confirmed that he is in the race for the Rwanda national team coaching job.

“You know that I don’t have any work for now, but my representatives are handling some jobs for me outside the country. I can confirm to you that it’s true I am in the shortlisted lists for the South Africa and Rwanda coaching jobs. There are other top club sides in Africa, and outside that we are also looking at.”

Safa are set to announce the new Bafana coach at the end of the month.
