Amajita finished on top of the group after coming back from 1-0 down to end up winning the tie 2-1 against Egypt in their last Group B game at the Arthur Davies Stadium on Monday.
“Hard luck to Egypt, they are a very good team with a good coach. We came here to learn and it is very important that we play against good teams because we are building our players for the next two years,” said Senong.
“Well done to our team, we stuck to the game plan, we always have different game plans and a formation depending on whatever happens so we always try to change just to try and come back into the game. It was not easy because we haven’t recovered in the last two games, so the legs were not there but well done to the boys for getting the result.”
Senong’s charges will play the best second-placed team in all the groups on Thursday in the first semi-final match, while the winner of group A, guests Uganda will take on the winners of Group C.
