Senong believes the team’s preparation matches have helped in terms of getting his team up to speed, but admits that it will be very difficult to make it out of the group stages with the likes of Korea and Portugal in Group F standings on their way.
“We are obviously excited to be part of this tournament, the best youth tournament in the world. Our boys have done very well to be here at the moment and we have done well during preparations. We played a couple of friendly games just to get information about the readiness of the players and the team, physically, mentally and tactically and I think so far the boys look okay,” said Senong.
“But then of course, the mental demand of the game will be different and what is key is to make sure that these players enjoy the tournament while they are learning at the same time. but, it is important that we teach our players to win games. It is very difficult, but we also want to be one of the teams that come out of the group stages successfully. So we have to plan properly against every team.”
