Seema feels hard done by match officials

The Free State outfit coach says referees are bound to make mistakes, but it is hard when they make the same mistake now and again.

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema was disappointed with some of the referee’s decisions in their goalless stalemate against Orlando Pirates at the Dr Molemela stadium on Wednesday night.

Needing maximum points to get out of the relegation where they are placed 13th on the league table with 27 points, the Celtic coach felt they were hard done by the match officials.

“It is frustrating what is happening with some of the referee’s decisions, it is difficult when you are down there because you work very hard preparing the team and putting everything. Yes, I understand that they are human beings and they also make mistakes, but if three or four them make the same mistake it is killing you,” Seema said in an interview with SuperSport TV.

“We expected the game to be as tough as this, we expected Pirates to attack. I think we played in patches and some of the guys didn’t play according to our expectations, but nonetheless, for me, a point is enough.”

With only two games remaining to the end of the season, Seema says a win against Pirates could have made things easier for the club, but now he will have to keep tabs on how other teams fighting to get out of the relegation zone are doing.

“I don’t know about other results, had we got three points today I wasn’t going to be worried about other team’s, but now I will have to start looking at how they are doing.”
