Security company takes Safa to court over R1m bill – report

According the Sunday World, Safa owe Helios Security and Risk Management CC R1 million in interest and legal fees.

“The defendant has breached the agreement by failing to make payment of the contractual fee from October 2018,” read the court papers seen by the Sunday newspaper.

“As at the end of February 2019, the total amount of R883,602 is due and owing. Despite the demand, the defendant refuses, fails or neglects to pay the amount of R883,602. We can confirm that our client has previously rejected a proposal by Safa to pay the outstanding amount in instalments.”

Safa initially had a contract with the security company for three years since 2014, once the contract expired Safa and Helios agreed on a month-to-month extension which Safa has since reportedly failed to pay the bill.
