Scottish club decide against signing Ex-Chiefs striker

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon is still a free agent after he failed to earn a contract at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.

Moon joined the side for a trial stint but didn’t impress coach Paul Heckingbottom.

Heckingbottom said he already had players with a similar style to Moon’s already and didn’t feel he needed the former Chiefs and Maritzburg United forward in his squad.

“We saw enough of Ryan on video in terms of his attributes. Athletic, good in the air and a really good lad. We wanted to give him an opportunity,” Heckingbottom told deadlinenews.co.uk

“But when we have the competition already in the building, there’s no point bringing in someone as a backup or who won’t improve the 11.

“In the forward areas we have Fraser [Murray], Boyler [Martin Boyle], Daryl [Horgan], Joe [Newell], Scott [Allan], Oli [Shaw], Flo [Kamberi] and Christian [Doidge]. That’s eight good players.”
