Sandilands could make his debut in Pirates colours in the Carling Black Label against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
“The transition period is over now. I feel at home and I can now really just focus on the football side,” Sandilands told KickOff.
“[Training] has been good so far, and the players are raring to go when the season starts. We’ve still got a lot to do obviously, it’s still early, we’ve only been back for two weeks.”
The former Sundowns man, who signed a three-year-deal with the Buccaneers, spoke fondly of being part of Pirates and facing Chiefs in the Soweto derby.
“You have to be excited – you hear about it all the time and you witness it [from outside], but to actually be a part of it is something special.
“I’m looking forward to it and, if I get involved, I will just try and give my best.”
