Safa congratulates SuperSport

The SA Football Association (Safa) has congratulated SuperSport United for reaching the final of the 2017 Caf Confederations Cup.


Matsatsantsa beat Club Africain on Sunday to set up a meeting with defending champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo.

“To the club chairman, CEO, management and technical staff, we congratulate you for this historic achievement of reaching the final of such a prestigious continental competition. As the association, we wish the team the best of luck and urge you to go all the way and lift the title,” Safa president Danny Jordaan told the association’s website.

“We would also like to congratulate coach Eric Tinkler, his assistant Kaitano Tembo and the entire technical team for a job well done. We take pride in seeing South African coaches doing well locally as well as on the continental stage.”

SuperSport are set to meet Mazembe away in DRC on November 17 before they meet them again in the second leg in Pretoria on November 24.
