SA referees to undergo Fifa fitness test

Daniel Bennett and Lindiwe Twala will undergo a Fifa fitness test on Thursday.

Bennett could not participate in the test in July due to an injury while Twala failed the test the first time around.

The South African duo will be joined by Botswana-based match official Pearl Moremi who also failed the test.

“We are going to have two South African match officials who will be taking part in this Fifa fitness test,” Tenda Masikhwa Safa’s head of referees told the association’s website.

“The first one is Daniel Bennett, who could not run earlier this year due to an injury he sustained during that period.

“The other one is Lindiwe Twala who failed the previous test and would be going for her second test in pursuit of retaining her Fifa badge. It is quite unfortunate that Chris Harrison has not completely recovered from his previous injury, and will therefore miss out on this upcoming test,” added Masikhwa.
