Mathumo is expected to join his Ea Lla Koto teammates for training on Wednesday.
“Simisani Mathumo today bid farewell to his teammates and the technical team before leaving for South Africa to join Free State Stars. Township Rollers thanks Simi for his many years of service and we wish him well in the Absa Premiership,” read a statement on Rollers’ official Facebook page.
Mathumo, who once caught the eye of former Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo, is set to reunite with former Rollers coach Nikola Kavazovic at Ea Lla Koto.
The pair formed a solid working relationship in Botswana reaching the group stages of the Caf Champions league with the Gaborone-based outfit.
