The introduction of Shauwn Mpisane in the club’s management saw her bring players that left Royal Eagles with her after she relinquished her ownership shares to her estranged husband Sbu as part of their on-going divorce between the KZN power couple.
Kings technical director Simo Dladla says as a result of the ‘merger’ between their players and Shauwn’s players, they had to ask some players to leave the club.
“Due to the merger with Shauwn, we found ourselves with an abnormal situation,” Dladla told the Daily Sun.
“All the players want to play but we can’t have a happy camp with that number of players, unfortunately we have to normalise things.
“It has been difficult with myself and coach Joel to cut the squad to a manageable one.
“The players are angry, it is tough negotiating with them. But I’m sure we’ll reach an agreement soon.
“What I know it is a merger (with players from Eagles) and we are going to utilise her facilities. But we can only accommodate a certain number of players.”
