Razak wants to fight for position at Sundowns

The 25-year-old Burundian attacker was loaned out to Phunya Sele Sele after failing to break into Pitso Mosimane’s team in Chloorkop.

Razak is not sure of his future as his contract with the Brazilians is set to end this month, but the Tshwane giants have an option to renew it, which they are yet to exercise.

“I don’t know at the moment what is going to happen. I don’t know if they will keep me or release me,” said Razak as quoted by Isolezwe on Thursday.

“I am happy at Celtic but would like to go back to Sundowns and fight for a place. I will however accept if they release me because I am happy here because I get game time. If I go back to Sundowns, I will fight for my position, even if it means taking extra training on my own,” he said.

Razak also revealed that the Celtic players were sad to see Luc Eymael go as he had instilled a sense of fight in the team and things were looking bright for the team under his guidance.

“We were happy with Eymael here. He made us believe in ourselves and instilled a fighting spirit in the team. We were saddened to here that he was leaving,” he said.

The Burundian striker also revealed that Phunya Selesele were just unlucky in front of goals, which led to the team fighting relegation until the last day of Premiership fixtures.

“We couldn’t score the goals. We created chances with the beautiful football we played but couldn’t convert them,” said Razak.
