Randers FC set to release Mandla Masango

Danish outfit Randers FC has confirmed they will not renew the contract of the Bafana midfielder when it expires at the end of the season.

Masango’s contract with the Danish Superliga side is set to expire in June.

The Bafana midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at SuperSport United, but had to return to Randers to honour his contract after the parties failed to agree on a permanent deal.

“Mandla’s status is that he is on leave in South Africa,” Randers’ head of communications, Kristian Fredslund Andersen, told Goal.

“There was a situation between the club and him a while ago that has been discussed in several media publications, and since then he [Masango] has not been part of the team,” he continued.

“His contract expires this summer, so he will most likely be in another place in the coming season,” added Andersen.

As reported by Phakaathi earlier, Cape Town City are said to be interested in the 28-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder.
