PSL postpones league games due to national elections

Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement on when the elections will be held the PSL has decided to reschedule some Absa Premiership matches.

The PSL will wait to see if any Absa Premiership club qualifies for the semi-final of the Caf Champions League before they postpone the fixtures in the continental club cup competition.

The block of fixtures set to be played on Wednesday night, 8 May will be played four day earlier, on Saturday afternoon, 4 May 2019.

“This block fixture – that must have simultaneous kick-off times around the country – will now be played on Saturday afternoon 04 May 2019 (instead of May 8)‚” read the statement from the PSL. “Should a South African team qualify for the Caf Champions League semi-finals the PSL will re-evaluate the situation and advise accordingly‚” said the PSL.
