Jantjie lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of Monday morning.
The 30-year-old had signed a pre-contract with Wits in January and was set to join the Students at the end of the season.
“These are sad news, what happened is sad, condolences to his family,” Hunt was quoted as saying by Isolezwe. “How many players need to die in this way in South Africa, this hurts.”
Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic was also saddened by Jantjie’s death whom he coached at Ea Lla Koto.
“It is shocking to hear sad news of passing away someone u recognize as top quality player like Sinethemba Jantjie. Sincere condolences upon unfortunate loss to his respected family, friends, his club with management, technical team, players and whole South African football family RIP,” read Sredojevic’s tweet.
