Polokwane City striker out for two weeks

Mohammed Anas is expected to be out of action for a while due to injury.

The Rise and Shine striker clashed with Free State Stars defender Tshepho Tema in a match over the weekend at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. The Ghanaian was carried off the field in the first half in the 23rd minute after sustaining the injury, and he was replaced by Bongile Booi.

Anas is wearing a moon boot to correct the injury. City coach Jozef Vukusic says an assessment set in two or three days will determine whether he can resume light training or not.

The 23-year-old joined Bakgakga at the start of the season from Free State Stars and is set to miss Rise and Shine’s next match against Bidvest Wits on Friday night.

“It is important for us that he starts training as soon as possible, because if he starts early then he will play,” Vukusic was quoted by LimSportZone.
