Pitso Mosimane encourages Maboe to dribble

The Mamelodi Sundowns coach is convinced Lebohang Maboe can improve and make a meaningful contribution to the Brazilians this season.


Maboe has scored two goals since joining Sundowns from Maritzburg United at the beginning of the 2018/19 season.

The 24-year-old scored the winning goal for Sundowns against Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium last Wednesday.

Mosimane is content with the progress made by Maboe since arriving at the club, but demands more from the player.

“Sometimes he loses balls that I don’t think he must, but you must also understand that he has not played at this level, but he works hard, he responds, he is a good boy, a good player,” said Mosimane.

“He needs more confidence, I need him to dribble a little bit, he is too conservative, he doesn’t want to lose the ball, he can dribble, here he is worried about not making mistakes and I have to make him aware that you have to dance on the ball sometimes…”
