It is advantage Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership title race as Orlando Pirates dropped points in their goalless draw away to SuperSport United on Wednesday night.
Pitso Mosimane is looking to take full advantage of the Buccaneers’ result by beating Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening.
“We must try and win against them, then we can say it gives us relief,” said the Sundowns coach.
“But unfortunately this is the wrong game to go look for relief. Gavin Hunt and the team would not like to lose to us. It is going to be the same game as the Pirates versus SuperSport game.
“We have to fight for the results before we can say we have an advantage because now it is all on paper and we have to play the game. After the game we can say maybe we have a chance,” the former Bafana Bafana mentor added.

What gives Mosimane a headache going into the clash at Loftus Versfeld in the capital city is his counterpart Gavin Hunt’s unpredictability when it comes to selecting his team.
“The challenge with Wits is that you never know which team will pitch up. You never know whether it is three at the back or if it is five defenders. We will only know on the pitch because even on the team-sheet you keep guessing,” he said.
In that, Mosimane reckons that the four-time league-winning Hunt’s chopping and changing of players in his line-up sets him apart from the rest of the coaches in the top-flight.
“Gavin changes the team all the time and he is one coach who can do that and get it right. Look at the line-up for the last three games. He is not afraid to change.
“He can change five players and he gets it right. His line-up is never consistent, but history says when he does it he gets it right. It is not only about the personnel, but the formation as well.”
