Pitso lays into referees again

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says senior referees in the country are untouchable.

This comes after Mamelodi Sundowns lost 2-1 at home to AmaZulu.

“The officials smile, you must look at them when they come out. Do you know why? It is because nothing happens to them,” said Mosimane.

“If you go to the small referee from Soweto, we hammer him, we put him in the newspapers. Last season a senior official gave away an incorrect penalty against Baroka, and Baroka were almost relegated,” lamented Mosimane.

Meanwhile, Sundowns players were given the cold shoulder by their supporters after surrendering a 1-0 lead against AmaZulu to suffer a third successive 2-1 league defeat at home.

Normally after the game, Sundowns players do a traditional salute to their fans in the north stand, and the supporters respond with resounding cheers. However, this time around they were confronted by agitated supporters who made gestures suggesting they go away as they were disappointed in them.
