Pirates youngster denies going to France for trials

Orlando Pirates’ young striker Lyle Foster has denied going to France to undergo a trial at Monaco.

This comes after reports in the media emerged that the 17-year-old had undergone a two-week trial at the French Ligue 1 giants.

“I was at home and I did not go to France. I was surprised to read about that in the media. My focus is on Pirates and to help the club achieve its goals this season,” Foster told The Sowetan.

Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic could not confirm nor deny if Foster had indeed gone to France for trials.

“This is something I cannot comment on because that’s management’s job,” the Serb was quoted as saying by The Sunday World earlier this week.

Foster was promoted to the Pirates first team after impressing in the Diski Challenge.

He has made four appearances for the Buccaneers this season and has one assist.

He is yet to open his account for Micho Sredojevic’s team.
