Phakaaathi has learnt that Orlando Pirates technical team has blocked Meshack Maphangule’s move to Chippa United.
According to a source close to Pirates, the 27-year-old was supposed to go to Chippa on loan until the end of the season.
“The clubs had agreed on the loan deal, but when the Pirates technical team was informed about it, they refused to let him go. They value him a lot. The technical team was then told [to] use the player if they value him that much,” said the source.

“I hear the Chippa coach (Joel Masutha) was not happy that the deal had fallen through. He was hoping to have Maphangule this January. Pirates tried to offer Chippa Justice Chabalala, but they were not keen on him,” added the source.
Mpaphangule, who joined Pirates from Black Leopards at the beginning of the season, has made only three appearances in all competitions for Pirates this season.
