Pirates supporters understand football – Mokwena
In the midst of poor results, Orlando Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena has comforted himself by stating that the club’s fans understand why things are not going for the team at the moment.

This is after the Buccaneers lost 1-0 to Premier League side Stellenbosch FC in a League encounter at the Cape Town Stadium last Saturday.
The result comes just after a week Pirates beat the same Stellies side by the same scoreline in the Telkom Knockout at the Orlando Stadium.
Bucs have now only managed to collect nine points in their last eight League games.
“We love our supporters, they love us. Orlando Pirates supporters are people that understand football. They see the way the team plays and of course there is no comment section on the log table. No one wants to know how well you play football,” Mokwena told reporters after the game.
“My opinion is that we are playing great football, probably the best football in the league. Week in week out we are very consistent in that regard. But like I said, there are no remarks or comments section next to the log standing. And, we find ourselves in a position that we should not be in. But like I say, all these supporters that I speak to understand football and understand where the team is. They understand why the team is in the position that it is in.
Mokwena adds that the support from the club’s fans make it simple for him to take responsibility when the team is not doing well and they will work on trying to change their fortunes.
“When you are supported by people who understand the game it is easier to sit in a position where you take the responsibility and you try to make sure that you do the best that you can to turn things around.”
