Orlando Pirates assistant coach Fadlu Davids said it was disappointing to drop two points against Esperance de Tunis but he was pleased with his side’s performance.
Davids believed they had a chance to win the game and didn’t take it, so they only had themselves to blame for not beating Esperance at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.
The Soweto giants dominated the match but failed to profit from all the goal-scoring chances they created throughout the game.
“We are having mixed emotions because, on one hand, we are really proud of the players for the performance they put up,” Davids said after the match.
“On the other hand, we are really disappointed to throw away the two points. We are really proud of the boys for dominating the African champions from start to finish. We also know that we let ourselves down in terms of not taking our chances. It is something to build on. There comes a point where we really have to believe how good we are.”
