Former Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni would like to see Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy win his first trophy as a coach.

Sangweni backs his former Bucs teammate to win the MTN8 final against SuperSport United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.
“Benni started well this season, the fact that he got to the final is proof that the team is moving in the right direction. You can’t ignore SuperSport United and [Eric] Tinkler. The way they play shows you that they have a good coach,” Sangweni told Isolezwe.
The retired Bafana Bafana defender worked with Tinkler at Pirates while Tinkler was Roger De Sa’s assistant.
“Having worked with both of them it is not easy to choose one that will win, but I wish Benni could win the trophy to increase his profile as a coach. Tinkler has already done well in his career as a coach,” commented Sangweni.
