The Buccaneers confirmed the news on their official website.
“Left back Marc Van Heerden has returned to full training. The 28-year old has been given the green light by the Bucs medical team and will be available for selection for Tuesday night’s league encounter against SuperSport United.
“Van Heerden has missed Pirates’ last two matches due to a grade 1 muscle (quad) tear in the league defeat to Bidvest Wits,” read a statement on the club’s website.
Pirates also gave an update on the injuries of Patrick Phungwayo, Thabo Qalinge and Thabo Rakhale.
“Meanwhile, Patrick Phungwayo will undergo further assessment with the medical team after suffering a slight knock in the 1-all draw against Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend.
“Other players still on the mend include wingers Thabo Qalinge (back) and Thabo Rakhale (hamstring), who are still nursing their respective injuries. The duo are out of contention for any selection for a couple of weeks longer.”
There was no news on Thabo Matlaba, who was reported to have suffered a right ankle contusion with a ligament sprain last week.
As reported by Phakaaathi earlier, the defender is said to be unhappy at the Buccaneers.
